Initially strength training will be performed to normalize the musculoskeletal system to make sure that every muscle is strong, flexible and balanced to the opposing muscle of the one being addressed. No other personal training facility addresses their clients in this way. You cannot begin general conditioning of all muscles until all muscles are balanced. An exercise program must be designed for each person depending on their needs. Our medical staff will assure that the exercise is being performed in a safe and effective manner in a gym that rivals commercial gyms. The atmosphere is less intimidating than a commercial gym as well. At PT2, strength training is performed at all ages. Understanding what you are trying to achieve with your exercise program is job one.

 

Personal Training

Because of the medical background of the facility, personal training is looked at as a means of providing strength and flexibility training with the intent of enhancing an individual's quality of life. The reasons for utilizing personal training at our facility include:

  • Increasing strength to improve ability to perform their functional activities with greater ease and limit the chance of injury.
  • Increasing ability to lose fat. Strength training causes an increase in muscle mass. This increases the amount of tissue necessary to keep alive requiring greater energy to be expended. The energy source for metabolism is fat.
  • Increasing bone density to resolve the effects of osteoporosis and limit the chance of bone fracture.
  • Reduce high blood pressure and reverse cardiovascular disease.
  • Increase the release of endorphins in the brain creating an improved sense of well being and limiting depression.
  • Improving body image.

An orthopedic evaluation is performed to begin. The purpose of the evaluation is to:

  • Review past medical history with the client.
  • Review the clients existing condition including establishing whether deficits exist that even the client is not aware of.
  • Create an initial workout program.
